Common questions
How does paying for a holiday in instalments usually work?
A deposit secures the booking, then the balance is spread over the months before departure; £25 a month from January to May is a classic pattern for a spring trip. Set the final instalment at least a month before you travel so late payments don't jeopardise the booking.
How much should the deposit be for a group trip?
Enough that people are committed: typically whatever the hotel or coach company requires, plus a margin. A meaningful deposit sorts the definites from the maybes early, which matters more in a big group than the exact amount.
What happens if someone drops out partway through the instalments?
Agree the rule before anyone pays: usually the deposit is non-refundable (it secured their place) and instalments stop. Whether they get instalments back depends on whether the group can fill the space. Put the policy in writing on day one and there's no argument later.
